A tourist has accused the parking company in Tangier, “Somagec,” of theft after being charged 135 dirhams for a full night of parking at the Place des Nations.
The tourist stated she chose to park her car in the lot on the evening of July 29, after being informed by an employee that overnight parking would cost her 60 dirhams. Upon returning the next morning to retrieve her vehicle, she was surprised to be asked to pay 135 dirhams. She requested clarification from the staff on the sudden price increase, which she claims was not adequately justified.
The tourist shared videos calling for a boycott of the parking facility and accused the company of theft, asserting that charging 135 dirhams for a single night’s parking is unreasonable.
