Traffic accidents in the Tangier region increased by 19.9% in 2024, along with a 3.3% rise in fatal accidents.
These findings were presented during a meeting at the governor’s office on Thursday, where it was noted that the indicators for the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region have experienced fluctuations, reflecting periods of both increases and decreases.
Between 2015 and 2024, the severity of accidents showed a significant decline, indicating progress in road risk management. However, the number of accidents surged by 19.9% in 2024 compared to the previous year, while fatal incidents rose by 3.3%.
