In the first half of this year, Morocco welcomed 8.9 million tourists, marking a 19% increase compared to the same period in 2024, equating to an additional 1.4 million visitors.
The Ministry of Tourism stated that this “promising” start to the year reflects a continued upward trend, highlighting Morocco’s position as a preferred destination for travelers, which bodes well for the prospects in 2025.
The statement noted that June contributed significantly to this dynamic, with 1.7 million tourists arriving, an 11% increase from 2024, making it the best June recorded to date.
This positive start is expected to bolster growth in the tourism sector, especially since the summer season typically sees peak activity in Morocco’s tourism industry.
Tourism Minister Fatima Zahra Amour emphasized that these results affirm Morocco’s attractiveness and its capacity to draw increasing numbers of tourists.
She added, “As we enter the second half of the year, we are prioritizing two main initiatives: enhancing air connectivity and accelerating the development of accommodation and activities to meet the demands of increasingly discerning customers.”
