Moroccan Security Arrests French National of Algerian Descent

Marrakech Police Arrest French-Algerian National on International Warrant

On Tuesday, police in Marrakech arrested a 44-year-old French national of Algerian descent, based on an international arrest warrant issued by French judicial authorities.

According to security sources, the suspect was detained after his information was flagged in Interpol’s database, indicating he is wanted internationally. The arrest followed a red notice from France, where he is believed to be connected to a criminal network operating in international drug trafficking.

Initial investigations reveal that the arrested individual is sought by French authorities for alleged involvement in drug smuggling operations from 2020 to 2021, targeting southern France.

The suspect is currently undergoing extradition procedures before being referred to the appropriate public prosecutor’s office. French security authorities have been notified of the arrest.

This action highlights the ongoing international cooperation in security matters and underscores Morocco’s efforts to apprehend individuals wanted for transnational crime.
