The Royal Moroccan Football Federation concluded its meeting on Friday, June 5, 2026, without deciding on the election of a new president or the renewal of Fouzi Lekjaa’s term.
According to information, it was decided during the meeting to postpone the election of a president until a later time.
In his speech, Lekjaa stated that this meeting is part of the continuation of the reform projects that Moroccan football is experiencing.
The president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation expressed his gratitude to King Mohammed VI for the special attention His Majesty gives to national football, and for his ongoing supervision of various related projects and initiatives, emphasizing that this royal attention is a source of support and motivation for all stakeholders in the sector.
He also praised the efforts made by various actors in the national football arena, including clubs, leagues, managers, and technical and administrative staff, highlighting the sacrifices they make to drive the development of Moroccan football. He affirmed that national football has become a comprehensive development project led by King Mohammed VI.
The president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation emphasized the necessity of continuing the reforms aimed at placing Moroccan football among the ranks of global football, especially with the Kingdom of Morocco approaching the final stages of preparation to host the 2030 World Cup.
Following that, the extraordinary general assembly unanimously approved the proposed amendments to some articles of the bylaws of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, aligning with the new dynamic for developing the national football system, before transitioning to a regular general assembly, during which the literary and financial reports were approved.
