In the Al-Alaff neighborhood of the Hay Hassani district in Casablanca, a shocking crime has drawn public outrage. A taxi driver allegedly murdered a young woman by stabbing her in the abdomen and attempted to dispose of her body by wrapping it in a blanket and leaving it in the street.
According to the newspaper As-Sabah, which reported the incident at the end of June, police have recently arrested the suspect. A surveillance video captured the moment the driver tried to conceal the body before abandoning it and fleeing to an unknown location.
Details of the Crime
Sources reveal that the suspect, a taxi driver, lived with his minor son in an apartment near the local market after his wife left due to family disputes. He took advantage of this situation to frequently bring women to his residence.
On the night of Saturday to Sunday, the suspect met his victim, a young woman believed to be a customer. She agreed to accompany him, unaware of the tragic fate that awaited her.
The crime occurred in the early hours of Sunday when the suspect allegedly stabbed the woman in the abdomen, resulting in her death. The motive appears to be linked to the suspect’s psychological issues stemming from his family circumstances, along with intoxication, which escalated into a violent confrontation.
Attempt to Dispose of the Body
Following the crime, the suspect attempted to erase the bloodstains from his apartment and wrapped the body securely in a blanket with the intention of transporting it away from the scene. He allegedly lured a worker from a nearby café to assist him in moving what he claimed was “furniture.” However, the worker discovered the truth and fled, notifying the authorities.
