The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) is advising Taiwanese travelers planning trips to Morocco to reassess their travel arrangements. This comes after a travel agency announced it has halted the process for visa authorization letters for travelers to Morocco.
Yesterday, Lion Travel posted a notice on its website indicating that the Moroccan embassy in Japan had ceased accepting visa applications, leading the agency to suspend its visa authorization letter service.
According to the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Taiwanese travelers must secure a visa authorization letter prior to their visit to Morocco.

Visa applications are submitted through the Moroccan Embassy in Japan, which then forwards them to the authorities in Morocco for approval. Once granted, the authorization is sent to applicants via fax, allowing them to obtain a visa upon arrival at a Moroccan airport.
MOFA stated that it has contacted Moroccan officials through its overseas missions to clarify the current situation but has yet to receive a response.
The ministry will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as they become available.
Taiwanese travelers with plans for business or leisure in Morocco are encouraged to thoroughly evaluate their itineraries and stay updated with MOFA’s latest announcements.
