Residents of Tangier’s “Al-Ikhlas” Complex Complain About Cleanliness Services
Residents of the “Al-Ikhlas” complex in Tangier have expressed their dissatisfaction with the cleanliness services provided by “Arma.” They report that garbage piles remain uncollected for several days, and there are not enough bins to accommodate the area’s population density.
A video recorded by a resident on Thursday, July 10, depicts a corner of the street resembling a public dump. The affected individual questioned the role of the Tangier municipality in monitoring “Arma’s” adherence to its cleanliness commitments.
This is not the first time residents of Tangier have raised concerns about “Arma’s” poor service. Previously, waste accumulation was reported in various city areas, with significant delays in collection and cleanup efforts. Additionally, some trucks from the company have faced criticism for leaking waste during transit.
The issues with “Arma” extend beyond environmental concerns, as they also touch on the labor rights of its employees. In May, workers protested against contract practices that deny them proper employment rights and benefits. They also reported low wages and poor working conditions.
One alarming development is the recent revelation that “Arma” has been disposing of waste leachate in the Med Caribbean Sea, posing serious environmental and public health risks.
