The General Directorate of Meteorology expects strong rainfall, with the possibility of hail, snowfalls, strong stormy winds, and cold weather, from today, Saturday, until after tomorrow, Monday, in several regions of the Kingdom.
The Directorate clarified, in an updated warning bulletin of “orange” alert level, that strong rainfall is expected, measuring between 20 and 30 mm, with the possibility of hail in the provinces and regions of Settat, Khouribga, Benslimane, Khemisset, Taza, Taounate, Sefrou, and Moulay Yacoub, starting from noon today until tomorrow, Sunday, at 3 PM.
The same phenomenon (from 30 to 40 mm) is expected in Azilal and Beni Mellal during the same time period. (From 50 to 80 mm) is expected in the provinces and regions of Tangier-Assila, M’diq-Fnideq, Chefchaouen, Fahs-Anjra, Wazzan, Tetouan, and Larache, starting from tomorrow, Sunday, at 3 AM until after tomorrow, Monday, at 3 PM.
The Directorate also expects snowfalls starting from elevations of 1200 meters, measuring between 20 and 50 cm in Al Haouz, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Ifrane, Khénifra, Midelt, Jerada, Ouarzazate, Tinghir, Sefrou, Taza, and Boulemane, and between 10 and 20 cm in Taroudant, Chefchaouen, Chichaoua, Tawrirt, Al Hoceima, and Figuig, starting from noon today until noon tomorrow, Sunday.
It added that strong stormy winds (from 75 to 85 km/h) are also expected in Figuig, Azilal, Ifrane, Tinghir, Benslimane, Berrechid, Jerada, Casablanca, Mediouna, Mohammedia, Nouacer, Rabat-Salé, Temara-Skhirat, Beni Mellal, Ouarzazate, Boulemane, Midelt, Al Haouz, Taroudant, Guelmim, Sidi Ifni, Tiznit, and Kenitra, starting from noon today until 11 PM, and in Nador, Figuig, Tawrirt, Jerada, and Jerada, from midnight until 10 PM tomorrow, Sunday.
The same source added that the weather will be cold (between -3 and -8) in the provinces and regions of Midelt, Boulemane, Taza, Jerada, Sefrou, Ouarzazate, Taroudant, Tinghir, Al Haouz, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Ifrane, Khénifra, and Chichaoua, on Saturday and Sunday.
