The General Directorate of Meteorology expects the sea to be rough to very rough with high waves along the Atlantic coasts from Tangier to Agadir, starting from tomorrow afternoon, Friday.
A statement from the Directorate clarified that these high waves coming from the west to the northwest will range in height from 6 to 8 meters.
The statement added that the wave height in the Strait of Gibraltar will reach between 4 and 6 meters, while it will range from 3 to 5 meters along the Mediterranean coasts from Al-Jabha to Saidia.
It was indicated that the waves are expected to peak next Saturday.
According to the same source, during the same period, a high tide will be recorded along the Atlantic coasts, ranging from 3 to 3.8 meters, especially in the early morning and evening.
In parallel, strong winds from the western sector are also expected, starting from tomorrow afternoon, Friday, affecting the Atlantic coasts, the Strait of Gibraltar, and the Mediterranean coasts, and may continue until the afternoon of next Sunday.
The General Directorate of Meteorology urged more caution and care, advising against any maritime activities and staying away from beaches and marine docks during wave height periods to avoid danger, in addition to following local weather and maritime bulletins and adhering to the instructions of the relevant authorities.
