The General Directorate of Meteorology reported that heavy snowfalls and strong rains, sometimes thunderous, along with strong winds, are expected from today, Wednesday, until next Saturday in several regions of the kingdom.
The Directorate clarified, in a warning bulletin at an alert level of “Orange,” that snow accumulations are expected starting from altitudes of 1600 meters, ranging between 15 and 30 cm in the provinces and regions of Taza, Jrarif, Sefrou, Boulemane, and Midelt, and between 10 and 15 cm in Ifrane and Azilal, and between 5 and 10 cm in Al Hoceima, Beni Mellal, Taroudant, Al Haouz, Tinghir, and Ouarzazate starting today, Wednesday at 1:00 PM until tomorrow, Thursday at the same time.
The Directorate added that heavy rains, sometimes thunderous (from 30 to 50 mm), are expected in the provinces and regions of Larache, Kenitra, Sidi Kacem, Al Hoceima, Tetouan, Mdiq-Fnideq, Chefchaouen, Fahs-Anjra, Tangier-Asilah, Wazzan, and Taounate starting today, Wednesday at 1:00 PM until tomorrow, Thursday at 9:00 AM.
The same phenomenon is also expected in the provinces and regions of Sefrou, Ifrane, Taza, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Khénifra, and Midelt, starting today, Wednesday at 9:00 PM until tomorrow, Thursday at 12:00 PM.
It is also expected that heavy rains, sometimes thunderous (from 70 to 100 mm), will occur in the provinces and regions of Tangier-Asilah, Tetouan, Larache, Kenitra, Chefchaouen, Al Hoceima, Wazzan, Fahs-Anjra, Taounate, Sefrou, Moulay Yacoub, Meknes, Ifrane, Khénifra, Midelt, Beni Mellal, and Azilal starting Friday at 12:00 AM until Saturday at 11:00 PM.
The Directorate noted that strong wind gusts (from 75 to 90 km/h) are also expected in the provinces and regions of Kenitra, Larache, Fahs-Anjra, Mdiq-Fnideq, Tetouan, Chefchaouen, Al Hoceima, Taza, Driouch, Jrarif, Jerada, Taourirt, Boulemane, Sefrou, Borken, Oujda, Nador, Figuig, Midelt, Fez, Hajeb, Ifrane, Tinghir, Ouarzazate, Tata, Tiznit, Sidi Ifni, and Kelaa des Sraghna starting today, Wednesday at 1:00 PM until tomorrow, Thursday at the same time.
