The administration of Al-Arjat prison in Morocco revealed that the Algerian activist on social media, Raouf Belkaci, has been in solitary confinement since his incarceration.
The prison clarified that this refutes rumors circulating about him being subjected to harassment and the seizure of his belongings, emphasizing that the videos being shared are “false and baseless.”
Moreover, the administration disclosed that a representative from the Algerian consulate in Casablanca is in contact with him and has deposited an amount into his personal account in prison, which allows him to purchase what he needs without obstacles.
It is noteworthy that the prisoner will appear before the court in Rabat on Monday, January 19, facing charges of public indecency, after appearing in a video he posted while urinating inside a stadium.
