The General Directorate of Meteorology reported that strong snowfall, rain or heavy rain showers, a cold wave, and strong wind gusts are expected from this Sunday until next Tuesday in several regions of the kingdom.
The Directorate clarified in an orange alert bulletin that snowfalls are expected starting from altitudes of 1300 meters, ranging between 50 and 90 cm in the provinces and districts of Al Haouz, Azilal, and Ouarzazate, and between 30 and 50 cm in Chichaoua, Midelt, Béni Mellal, Tinghir, Ifrane, Khenifra, Sefrou, Boulmane, Al Hoceima, Ksar El Kebir, Taza, and Taroudant, starting this Sunday at 12 PM until Tuesday at 6 AM.
The same phenomenon is expected starting from altitudes of 1200 meters (ranging between 10 and 30 cm) in the provinces and districts of Driouh, Figuig, Jerada, Errachidia, Taourirt, and El Hajeb, Chefchaouen, and Chtouka Ait Baha, Tiznit, and Oujda–Angad, starting this Sunday at 12 PM until next Tuesday at 6 AM.
The Directorate added in an orange alert bulletin that heavy rainfall or rain showers from 30 to 40 mm are expected in the provinces and districts of Fahs-Anjra, M’diq-Fnideq, Tetouan, Chefchaouen, Al Hoceima, and Driouh, this Sunday from 2 PM to 11 PM, as well as in Nador, Berkane, and Oujda–Angad, on Monday from midnight until 12 PM.
The Directorate mentioned in an orange alert bulletin that a cold wave is expected with temperatures between -3 and -9 degrees in the provinces and districts of Tinghir, Al Haouz, Midelt, Boulmane, Sefrou, Kserif, Taza, Ouarzazate, Taroudant, Chichaoua, Azilal, Béni Mellal, Ifrane, Khenifra, Fez, and Figuig, from this Sunday until next Tuesday.
The same source continued in the bulletin that strong wind gusts ranging from 75 to 90 km/h are expected in the provinces and districts of Tata, Chtouka Ait Baha, Tiznit, and Taroudant, Sidi Ifni, Tan-Tan, Guelmin, Assa-Zag, Tarfaya, and Smara, this Sunday from 12 PM to 11 PM, as well as in Figuig, Sidi Ifni, and Guelmin, on Monday from 12 PM to 11 PM.
