The city of Oujda witnessed significant snowfall on Tuesday evening, covering various streets and squares of the eastern capital, after several years of absence.
This snowfall, which began in the early hours of the evening, added a white coat to the city’s landmarks, creating an atmosphere of joy and happiness among the residents who came out to celebrate this “exceptional” white visitor and document the moment.
This snowfall comes amid a cold wave affecting the eastern region of the kingdom, in line with forecasts issued by the Directorate General of Meteorology, which indicated the passage of cold air masses leading to a noticeable drop in temperatures and rainfall and snowfall in several areas of the region.
Several citizens expressed their optimism in statements collected by the Moroccan News Agency regarding this snowfall, which is expected to contribute to enhancing the water table and revitalizing the agricultural season in the area, in addition to its aesthetic aspect that the city has missed for years.
