The Royal Moroccan Football Federation announced that the medical tests undergone by Moroccan international Azzedine Ounahi confirmed that he suffered a muscular injury in the leg. It was confirmed that he will officially miss the remainder of the Africa Cup of Nations and will undergo a special therapeutic and rehabilitation program.
The Federation indicated that “despite this injury, Azzedine Ounahi will continue to be present with the national team, to support his teammates during the remaining matches of the Africa Cup of Nations, in the spirit of solidarity and cohesion that characterizes the ranks of the national team.”
On another note, the Federation mentioned that the national team resumed its training in preparation for the match that will bring them together on Friday, January 9, against the Cameroonian team. This is as part of the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations, hosted by Morocco until January 18.
It was clarified that the national players underwent a training session at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, which was designed to relieve fatigue. The technical staff of the team worked to adjust the session according to the physical condition of each player.
