The General Directorate of Meteorology reported that strong stormy winds and very heavy rain, especially over the highlands, as well as snowfall, are expected today, Friday, and tomorrow, Saturday, in several regions of the Kingdom.
The Directorate explained, in a warning bulletin of “orange” alert level, that strong stormy winds (from 90 to 105 km/h) are expected in Al-Haouz and Chichawa, and from 90 to 100 km/h in the provinces of El Jadida, Sidi Ben Nour, Safi, Essaouira, Midelt, and Azilal.
The same phenomenon (from 75 to 90 km/h) is also expected in the provinces of Youssoufia, Figuig, Jerada, Oujda-Angad, Taourirt, Qal’at al-Sraghna, Marrakech, Al-Rhamna, Agadir-Ida Ou Tanane, Taroudant, Boulemane, Kserif, and Berkane, starting today, Friday, at 11:30 AM until tomorrow, Saturday, at 12:00 AM.
The same source indicated that the same phenomenon (from 75 to 90 km/h) is also expected in the provinces of Rabat, Temara-Skhirat, Nador, Casablanca, Mediouna, Berrechid, Mohammedia, Benslimane, and Settat, starting today, Friday, at 9:00 PM until tomorrow, Saturday, at 6:00 AM, as well as in El Jadida, Sidi Ben Nour, Safi, Essaouira, Chichawa, Berrechid, Al-Haouz, Figuig, and Ouarzazate, starting tomorrow, Saturday, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
The Directorate recorded, in a warning bulletin of “red” alert level, that very heavy rain (from 80 to 120 mm) is expected, especially over the highlands in the provinces of Agadir-Ida Ou Tanane, Taroudant, and Essaouira, from today, Friday, at 5:00 PM until tomorrow, Saturday, at 11:00 PM.
It also stated in a warning bulletin of “orange” alert level, that strong rain (from 30 to 45 mm) is expected in the provinces of Safi, Sidi Ben Nour, El Jadida, Chitouka Ait Baha, Inzikan Ait Melloul, Tiznit, Chichawa, Al-Haouz, and Youssoufia, from today, Friday, at 5:00 PM until tomorrow, Saturday, at 6:00 PM.
The same phenomenon (from 30 to 45 mm) will also affect the provinces of Al-Rhamna, Settat, and Marrakech, starting Saturday from midnight until 10:00 AM.
Furthermore, the Directorate reported in a warning bulletin of “orange” alert level, that snowfall is expected in the provinces of Midelt, Tinghir, Azilal, Ouarzazate, Al-Haouz, Taroudant, and Chichawa starting from 1600 meters (from 20 to 50 cm), from today, Friday, at 9:00 PM until tomorrow, Saturday, at 6:00 PM.
