The city of Essaouira topped the rainfall measurements recorded in Moroccan cities over the past 24 hours, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology.
Essaouira recorded: 30 mm at the airport and 22 mm at the port. Here are the rest of the rainfall measurements:
Errachidia: 21 mm, Sidi Ifni: 14 mm, Guelmim: 12 mm, Tiznit and Midelt: 10 mm, Laayoune and Smara: 5 mm, Taroudant: 4 mm, Tan-Tan, Ouarzazate, and Agadir-Ida Ou Tanane: 3 mm, Ifrane, Fes-Saïs, and El Jadida: 2 mm, Tetouan, Béni Mellal, and Agadir-Ida Melloul: 1 mm.
In a new orange vigilance alert, the General Directorate of Meteorology stated that snowfall and strong, sometimes thunderous rain are expected today, Saturday, and tomorrow, Sunday, December 14, in several regions of Morocco.
The Directorate clarified that snowfall (starting from 1700 meters) is expected to reach 30 to 50 cm in the provinces and regions of Midelt, Boulemane, Ouarzazate, and Tinghir.
From 10 to 30 cm in the provinces and regions of Ifrane, Khenifra, Béni Mellal, Azilal, Al Haouz, and Taroudant. This is expected from today, Saturday at 9:30 AM until tomorrow, Sunday at 10:00 AM.
It also added that strong, sometimes thunderous rain is expected to be recorded from 25 to 50 mm in the provinces and regions of Figuig, Boulemane, Errachidia, Zagora, Tinghir, Tata, and Midelt. This will be from today, Saturday at 9:30 AM until tomorrow, Sunday at noon.
The same phenomenon is also expected, with 30 to 50 mm in the provinces and regions of Mdiq-Fnideq, Fahs-Anjra, Tangier-Asilah, Chefchaouen, and Tetouan. This will be from today, Saturday at 8:00 PM until tomorrow, Sunday at 10:00 AM.
