On Wednesday, October 29, the General Directorate of National Security and the French Insurance Companies Group “ARGOS” signed a partnership agreement in Rabat. The agreement focuses on strengthening and developing cooperation and technical support to facilitate the searching, tracking, and recovery of all types of reported stolen vehicles.
The agreement was signed by the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, and the Director General of the French Insurance Companies Group, Benoît Leclerc.
According to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security, the agreement establishes official contact points and communication channels between the Directorate and the French Insurance Group “ARGOS.” This aims to facilitate coordination efforts concerning stolen vehicle investigations, including their identification, tracking, and recovery, as well as the implementation of training programs in relevant technical and scientific fields.
The statement added that this agreement also allows the specialized services of the General Directorate of National Security to access the “ARGOS” database, which includes technical data provided by manufacturers of all types of vehicles. Additionally, it grants access to Moroccan police services to available information technology resources for tracking and locating reported stolen vehicles.
This agreement is part of a comprehensive initiative undertaken by the General Directorate of National Security in recent years to enhance and modernize the criminal investigation methods used by judicial police services. This modernization encompasses increased reliance on modern technologies, support for police infrastructure, and the provision of advanced material and logistical equipment, as well as strengthening human resources dedicated to combating various forms of crime.
