Manipulation! Calls for Investigation After Ajax Tangier’s Relegation to the Amateur Second Division

AJAX Tangier football team has been relegated from the amateur first division after finishing in 15th place, and will compete in the second amateur division next season.

Team members expressed their shock at the decision. Ashraf Ben Tawit stated in a Facebook post, “In a country where equality of opportunity and sports justice are supposed to prevail, we were surprised by an unjust decision to demote AJAX Tangier to the national second amateur division, following more than a month and a half after the end of the league, where the team finished in 14th place after a challenging season.”

He added, “The relegation decision came at a time when the team was seriously preparing for the playoff matches, which increased the painful impact and dealt a significant blow to the management, players, and supporters.”

Ashraf further noted, “What intensifies the bitterness of this decision is that it followed a suspicious match between the Sporting Youth Club and the Casablanca Union, which featured blatant violations that raise numerous questions regarding the lack of transparency and clarity in handling the game’s proceedings and its result, especially in light of the appeal to the federation.”

He called for an urgent, transparent, and fair investigation into this match and the circumstances surrounding the decision. He urged a reconsideration of this unjust ruling to uphold the club’s rights and protect the dignity of its players and fans.
