The Public Prosecution Office at the First Instance Court in Bouin Jrir has clarified recent social media claims regarding the alleged arbitrary arrest of two individuals in the area. According to official sources, these claims stem from a lawful arrest of two men who were publicly intoxicated, insulted police officers, caused disorder, and vandalized public property.

The first suspect was arrested in the early hours of June 27 after he insulted police personnel while attempting to live-stream from his social media account. During this broadcast, he displayed the police station and individuals entering the premises, while discussing a case currently pending before the Court of Appeal in Marrakech.

The source further noted that during the arrest, the first suspect was visibly intoxicated and used offensive language toward the police. His brother, who also arrived at the station in an intoxicated state, disrupted the police operations, insulted officers, and damaged a window of the police facility.

To facilitate further investigation, the Public Prosecution Office instructed that the two brothers be placed in police custody. They are under investigation for public intoxication, vandalism of public property, and insulting public officials while they were performing their duties. During their custody, the judicial police transferred the detainees to the hospital for necessary medical examinations.

The source confirmed that both individuals are currently being held in police custody, in full compliance with legal formalities and guarantees. In adherence to the rule of law, they will be presented to the Public Prosecution Office once the investigations are complete for appropriate legal action.
