To confront the risks of rising water levels in the Oued Sebou, the authorities of Sidi Kassem organized a preventive evacuation operation that specifically involved the “Ait Daoud” neighborhood of the Takhna community, in order to preserve lives and property.
According to local authorities, this qualitative operation involved the evacuation of more than 60 people from the neighborhood’s residents, as local authorities and intervention teams worked to ensure their safe transport to temporary accommodations in nearby villages that are located in safe areas not threatened by flooding.
In parallel with the evacuation of residents, vigilance committees paid special attention to protecting livestock, which is an economic pillar of the region, as a number of heads of livestock were transported to safe places away from the river’s course.
