Taounate.. Authorities Decide to Evacuate Residents

The authorities of the province of Taounate decided to evacuate some families whose homes are at risk of collapse or those threatened by flooding.

This concerns the residents of the districts of Al-Mutimr and Azabat Al-Nukhla, located within the territorial jurisdiction of the Arghiywa commune in the Taounate district, which are threatened due to rising water levels in the Osra River and soil erosion in the Al-Hajr Daryan neighborhood of the Taounate commune.

In order to support these measures on the ground, the provincial governor visited the threatened homes in the districts of Al-Mutimr and Azabat Al-Nukhla, which belong to the Arghiywa territorial commune, and observed the efforts made by the relevant authorities to evacuate the homes threatened by flooding from the Osra River to protect its residents from danger.

He also visited the Al-Hajr Daryan neighborhood in the Taounate commune to assess the fieldwork carried out by the local authorities to vacate four homes threatened by collapse due to soil erosion, which were inhabited by approximately 11 families consisting of 38 individuals; one of these homes collapsed on January 30, 2026.
