The Disciplinary Committee of the African Football Confederation rejected the request of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation to consider the Senegalese national team as losers, after its players withdrew from the Africa Cup final before its conclusion.
According to the decision issued by the Disciplinary Committee, the complaint submitted by the Royal Federation regarding the Senegalese party’s violation of Articles 82 and 84 of the African Cup of Nations regulations, concerning the final of the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025, was rejected.
These articles primarily concern withdrawal or refusal to play or leaving the pitch, and state that any team engaging in such behavior “is considered a loser and excluded from the competition.”
The federation had filed a complaint regarding the suspension of players from playing and leaving the pitch, to the extent that several of them entered the locker room and posted on social media, before being persuaded to return to resume the match.
