The General Directorate of Meteorology expects the sea to be very rough to strong, with the registration of violent sea waves along the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts starting from tomorrow afternoon, Wednesday.
The Directorate clarified, in a statement, that this condition will affect the Atlantic coasts extending from Tangier to Agadir, where it is expected that the height of the waves coming from the western to northwestern sector will range between 6 and 7 meters.
The same source mentioned that it is also expected that the height of the waves will range from 4 to 5 meters in the Strait of Gibraltar, and from 3 to 4.5 meters on the Mediterranean coasts extending from Al Hoceima to Saïdia. High waves are expected to be recorded during the night of tomorrow, Wednesday.
The General Directorate indicated that a period of high tide is expected along the Atlantic coasts on Wednesday and Thursday, with wave heights ranging from 3 to 3.5 meters.
In parallel, the Directorate expects to record strong to locally very strong wind gusts from the western to southwestern sector, starting Wednesday, which will affect the Atlantic coasts from Tangier to Safi, in addition to the Strait of Gibraltar and the Mediterranean coasts, noting that it is expected that conditions will improve starting next Friday.
