Before FIFA decides on the country that will host the final of the 2030 World Cup, which will be organized jointly between Morocco, Portugal, and Spain, the president of the Spanish federation, Rafael Lozano, announced that the final match will take place in his country, directly referencing the events of the Africa Cup final.
Lozano spoke confidently that Spain would be the host. He stated that Spain has a proven organizational capacity over the years and that it will lead the 2030 World Cup, referencing the events that occurred during the Africa Cup final in Morocco.
“The final of the tournament will be held here,” Lozano declared to the Sports Press Association in Madrid on Monday.
However, Spaniards themselves have doubted the president’s statements, with the radio station “Cadena Ser” emphasizing that the final decision regarding the final’s location has not yet been made. According to their information, Lozano’s statements reflect a desire rather than a confirmed fact, as FIFA has confirmed that the decision will not be announced before the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup.
