The General Directorate of National Security denied the circulating news regarding a woman and a bus driver’s assistant being assaulted on Monday morning, January 26, at the bus station in Taroudant city. This allegedly occurred by a group of migrants from sub-Saharan African countries.
The Directorate confirmed in a clarifying statement for public awareness that it seriously engaged with the information provided in an article regarding this matter published by the “Maghreb Times” website, and reviewed the statistical data and situation available to the regional security area in Taroudant. The review process showed that the police services in Taroudant city did not receive any complaint or report regarding this issue.
The Directorate clarified that the review process confirmed that the only incident recorded on Monday morning, January 26, at the bus station in Taroudant city, involved a migrant from one of the sub-Saharan African countries sustaining an accidental injury to the face by a group of individuals. This occurred following his attempt to board one of the buses, after which he was transported to the local hospital for necessary medical assistance.
The General Directorate of National Security reiterated in its statement of truth its serious and positive engagement with what the media circulates regarding issues related to security affairs, alongside its commitment to taking all necessary measures to intensify proactive and punitive security efforts to combat all negative phenomena affecting public order.
