The Republic of Senegal renewed its firm and steadfast support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco and its sovereignty over its entire national territory, including the Saharan region.
This position was expressed in the joint statement adopted today, Monday in Rabat, at the conclusion of the work of the Moroccan-Senegalese high-level mixed partnership committee, co-chaired by the Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, and the Senegalese Prime Minister, Mr. Ousmane Sonko.
On this occasion, the Senegalese side reiterated its full support for the autonomy plan under Moroccan sovereignty, presented by Morocco as the only credible, serious, and realistic solution to settle this regional dispute within the exclusive framework of the United Nations.
Senegal also praised the historic adoption of Resolution No. 2797 by the United Nations Security Council on October 31, 2025, which enshrines, within the framework of Moroccan sovereignty, the autonomy plan proposed by Morocco as the sole, credible, serious, and sustainable basis for reaching a political solution to this issue.
