The Senegalese President, Macky Sall, awarded pieces of coastal land to each member of the national team after their victory in the Africa Cup of Nations last Sunday against Morocco, according to the “Reuters” agency.
The agency reported that the president granted bonuses exceeding $130,000.
Morocco lost 1-0 after extra time against Senegal in the final in Rabat, following significant chaos caused by the Senegalese fans who did everything to secure the title.
Senegalese players left the field angrily in protest against the VAR decision to award Morocco a penalty for a foul on striker Brahim Diaz, who missed the penalty after having to wait about 14 minutes before the Senegalese team resumed play.
