Alert Bulletin.. Disturbed Weather in Morocco from Friday to Tuesday

The General Directorate of Meteorology reported that heavy snowfall and rain showers are expected, starting from this Friday until next Tuesday, in several regions of the kingdom.

The Directorate clarified, in an alert bulletin of “orange” vigilance level, that snowfall is expected starting from elevations of 1400 meters (ranging between 35 and 80 cm), in the provinces and regions of Al Haouz, Azilal, and Chichaoua, starting from this Friday at six in the evening until next Monday at six in the morning.

The same source added that snowfall is also expected from elevations of 1300 meters (ranging between 15 and 35 cm), in the provinces and regions of Midelt, Beni Mellal, Ouarzazate, Tinghir, Khenifra, Sefrou, Boulemane, Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen, Jerada, Taza, and Taroudant, starting from this Friday at six in the evening until next Monday at six in the morning.

The same phenomenon will affect areas starting from elevations of 1200 meters (with snowfall ranging between 10 and 15 cm), including the provinces and regions of Driouch, Figuig, Errachidia, Taourirt, and El Hajeb, starting from this Friday at six in the evening until next Monday at six in the morning.

The same phenomenon will also register starting from elevations of 1500 meters (with snowfall of 10 to 15 mm) in the provinces and regions of Tiznit and Ait Baha, starting from this Friday at six in the evening until next Monday at six in the morning.

The Directorate added, in an alert bulletin of “orange” vigilance level, that heavy rain or showers between 20 and 40 mm are expected in the provinces and regions of Kenitra, Sidi Slimane, Benslimane, Berrechid, Rabat, Khouribga, Sale, Temara-Skhirat, Meknes, Azilal, Casablanca, Mediouna, Qal’at Sraghna, Mohammedia, Nouacer, Khemisset, Al Hoceima, Al Haouz, Fqih Bensalah, Tangier, Asilah, Widan, Beni Mellal, Larache, Chefchaouen, Sidi Qasim, Khenifra, and El Hajeb, starting from this Friday at six in the evening until tomorrow Saturday at six in the evening.

The Directorate mentioned, in an alert bulletin of “orange” vigilance level, that a cold wave between minus 03 and minus 09 degrees is expected in the provinces and regions of Tinghir, Al Haouz, Midelt, Boulemane, Sefrou, Jerada, Taza, Ouarzazate, Taroudant, Chichaoua, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Ifrane, and Khenifra, starting from this Sunday until next Tuesday.
