The Jordanian national team player apologized to the substitute team coach, Tariq Skitiwi, due to the refusal of some players to greet him during Morocco’s Arab Cup victory.
A video clip circulated showing Skitiwi attempting to greet several Jordanian players, but they ignored his salutation. The scene was met with widespread condemnation and criticism of the Jordanian players; followers considered the behavior an indicator of a “lack of sportsmanship.”
In response to the controversy, Jordanian player Slim Obeid apologized to Skitiwi, saying that “the situation was unintentional and does not represent the ethics of Jordanians.”
