Demonstration of Ait Boukhamaz Residents: Government Limits Its Response to Telecom Network Issues Without Providing Solutions

The spokesperson for the government did not respond to media inquiries regarding the protests in Aït Boukmaz, which have garnered national attention since July 9.

Representatives from various media outlets relayed the community’s primary concerns, including issues related to marginalization, road conditions, health services, and poor communication networks.

While the spokesperson did not directly address the protests, the minister mentioned the government’s recent approval of a draft decree concerning postal and telecommunications services. He stated that the project primarily aims to define the composition of an administrative committee tasked with certifying terms of reference for establishing or operating communication networks and providing related services.

The spokesperson indicated that the National Agency for Telecommunications would address the network issue but did not provide details on any measures to remedy existing deficiencies.
