The family announced that they would take necessary legal actions against anyone involved in disseminating these falsehoods to protect Kawther’s dignity and family privacy.
Call for Media Responsibility

Who Is Kawther Boudegarra?
Kawther Boudegarra is a Moroccan journalist, actress, and model known for hosting television programs such as "Jari Ya Jari" on Medi1 TV and "Nass Nessma" and "Mamnous Ala Al Rijal" on Nessma TV.
Relationship with Tunisian Businessman Nabil Karoui
In 2019, Moroccan and Tunisian media reported on a relationship between Kawther Boudegarra and Tunisian businessman Nabil Karoui, the owner of Nessma TV and a former presidential candidate for the Heart of Tunisia party.
Reports indicated that Kawther gave birth to a son named "Jibril" on May 9, 2016, with Nabil Karoui outside of marriage, which sparked significant controversy, especially following Karoui’s arrest in Tunisia on charges related to tax evasion and money laundering.
Documented evidence suggested that Karoui officially recognized his son Jibril in a French court. However, Kawther later stated on the program "Alam Shahrazad" that part of the discussed document was forged, indicating she could not respond at the time to protect her child. Furthermore, in 2022, Kawther stirred controversy by leading the “Coalition 490” campaign, which called for the repeal of Article 490 of the Moroccan penal code that criminalizes sexual relations outside of marriage, sparking widespread criticism for conflicting with Moroccan societal values.
