The French Council of the Muslim Religion (CFCM) announced on Monday, February 2, that the beginning of Ramadan in France will be on Thursday, February 19, 2026, and that Friday, March 20, 2026, is the day of Eid al-Fitr for the year 1447 AH.
The council announced this based on what it described as “scientific data,” indicating that the conjunction of the new moon for Ramadan 1447 AH will occur on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 13:01 (Paris time). Visibility conditions for the crescent will only be available on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
