The TikToker Hicham Girondo leaked a video that he claimed documents the smuggling of a quantity of hashish belonging to a person named Nabil Rahib, in the area of Ouled Berjal on the outskirts of Kenitra.
Hicham, via his page, stated on Saturday, January 31, that the operation took place a week ago when Rahib attempted to smuggle his goods on three boats. Hours later, he deleted the video. Why?
The TikToker once again found himself in an embarrassing situation, as the video he relied on to present this story about drug trafficking was actually “an old video” published by the Spanish media days earlier.
The video documents an incident where smugglers were chased by the Spanish Civil Guard in the large valley near Aznalcázar in Seville.
The incident once again confirms the ease with which TikTokers can be deceived and pushed to spread false and fabricated news, as despite claiming to have accurate information, he continues to post news and clips without even verifying their accuracy.
Despite the ease of discovering that the recent video does not relate to Morocco, it misled the TikToker and affirmed the lack of credibility in what he publishes, transforming him into a tool for spreading lies and settling scores.
