The company “Meta,” owner of the Instagram app, revealed a new feature in the app on Wednesday, December 10, supported by artificial intelligence, that allows users to view and modify the algorithms that make up their “Reels” video section. The aim is to provide users with more control.
The app offers the feature “Your Algorithm,” which displays topics that Instagram believes users are interested in. This is based on their viewing history.
The company stated in a statement that users can now directly inform the platform about topics they wish to see more or less of. Recommendations will be adjusted accordingly in real time.
This feature provides users with a summary of their main interests. It also allows them to write specific topics to focus on.
The company explained that the tool has currently launched in the United States. It will be rolled out “soon” globally in English.
