The management of a private clinic in Tangier has suspended several nurses pending investigations into the alleged theft of jewelry from an elderly patient during the night of the past Monday to Tuesday. The victim’s family is awaiting the results of the investigation to recover the stolen items.
According to informed sources, the victim, a 91-year-old woman living in Belgium, was recently transferred to the clinic for health care due to fluid accumulation in her lungs. Due to the long-standing bracelets she wore, her family faced difficulties in removing them upon her admission and decided to leave them on.
On the night of Monday to Tuesday, family members reported being shocked to find that the bracelets had been replaced with “fake jewelry” sold on the street by migrants from sub-Saharan countries. The elderly woman showed signs of forceful removal on her wrist.
The victim confirmed to her family that “nurses” had forcibly taken off the bracelets. In response to this shocking revelation, the clinic’s director decided to suspend all suspected staff and called the police to initiate an investigation into the incident.
Family members informed the media that they have taken all legal steps and are awaiting swift action to ensure justice for the victim, recover her belongings, and hold those responsible accountable, as this incident has tarnished the reputation of a well-known clinic.
