OpenAI has announced the launch of its new browser, ChatGPT Atlas, which is based on artificial intelligence. This move aims to reduce Google Chrome’s dominance in the browser market.
ChatGPT Atlas allows users to open a sidebar for the robot within any window to summarize content, compare products, or analyze data from any website. Users can also interact directly with websites to perform various tasks, including searching, shopping, and editing text.
The company stated that Atlas will make the ChatGPT chatbot smarter and more effective through the “browser memory” feature, enabling it to remember the context from the sites users visit and retrieve it when needed.
Additionally, users will have full control over privacy settings, with the option to delete web data history at any time.
Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, said, “We believe that artificial intelligence represents a rare once-in-a-decade opportunity to rethink what a browser can be.”
ChatGPT Atlas is currently available for Mac users worldwide, with plans to launch soon on Windows, iOS, and Android systems.
