The Dutch club Ajax has entered into serious negotiations to sign the Moroccan player Azzedine Ounahi, a midfielder at the Spanish club Girona.
Reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano indicates that negotiations are ongoing between both parties, both at the player level and between the clubs.
Ounahi’s contract with Girona contains a release clause of 25 million euros; however, Ajax is attempting to negotiate this amount down. It is noted that coach Michel wishes to keep the player within the squad.
Azzedine Ounahi, 26 years old, is considered one of the most prominent Moroccan talents in recent years. The player stood out during his participation with the Moroccan national team in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where he contributed to the “Atlas Lions” reaching the semifinals for the first time in the history of Arab and African football.
Ounahi is characterized by his ability to control the midfield, precise passing, and offensive runs, making him an ideal choice to strengthen Ajax’s midfield, which aims to return to competing for domestic and European titles.
