Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Kick Off Their Extended Wedding Festivities

Police officers patrolling outside Madison Square Garden on Thursday.

Additional officers from the New York Police Department will be stationed around Madison Square Garden for the wedding celebration of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, according to a law enforcement official familiar with the arrangements.

Organizers are set to construct a tent to block the view of part of West 31st Street near Seventh Avenue, enabling guests to alight from vehicles without being seen, the official stated.

About 500 vehicles are anticipated to drop off wedding attendees, according to sources informed about the logistics.

The plan aims to keep 7th and 8th Avenues on either side of Madison Square Garden open to traffic. Therefore, if a large number of fans gather, they may be limited to sidewalks with limited visibility of events outside the venue, the sources added.

The security measures include heavy weapon teams with long guns, canine units, emergency services teams, and additional officers for crowd management, the official noted. However, the area will not be designated as a frozen zone like during the NBA Finals, the official clarified.

Taylor Swift, one of the world’s most renowned celebrities, has encountered previous security threats, including numerous stalking incidents and a reported terror plot aimed at her concerts in Vienna in 2024.

In a news conference on Wednesday, NYC Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch mentioned “an event we are monitoring at Madison Square Garden on Friday night” and stated that the NYPD will have “a deployment in place,” but she refrained from disclosing details.
