The Disciplinary Committee of the African Football Confederation decided to penalize the Royal Moroccan Football Federation with a total fine of $415,000 due to the events of the Africa Cup final.
The penalties included
- The suspension of Achraf Hakimi, player of the Moroccan national team, for two (2) official matches belonging to CAF, including one (1) match suspended for one year (1) starting from the date of the decision, due to unsportsmanlike conduct.
- The suspension of Ismail Sabiri, player of the Moroccan national team, for three (3) official matches belonging to CAF, due to unsportsmanlike conduct.
- A fine of $100,000 imposed on Ismail Sabiri.
- A fine of $200,000 imposed on the Royal Moroccan Football Federation due to the inappropriate behavior of the ball boys on the field.
- A fine of $100,000 imposed on the Royal Moroccan Football Federation due to the inappropriate behavior of the national team players and coaching staff, who invaded the video assistant referee (VAR) inspection area and obstructed the referee’s work, in violation of articles 82 and 83 of the CAF Disciplinary Code.
- A fine of $15,000 imposed on the Royal Moroccan Football Federation due to the use of laser beams by its fans during the match.
