Wydad Casablanca has officially announced its signing of Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech, though the duration of the contract was not specified.
Ziyech joins Wydad Casablanca as a free agent following his departure from Qatari club Al-Duhail last June. The player, who reached the semifinals of the 2022 World Cup with the Atlas Lions, began his professional career in 2012 with Dutch club Heerenveen and subsequently played for two other Dutch teams, Twente and Ajax Amsterdam.
In 2020, Ziyech signed with Chelsea FC, winning the UEFA Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, and the UEFA Super Cup during his tenure. After leaving Chelsea in 2023, he played for Turkish club Galatasaray before joining Al-Duhail.
Recently, Ziyech was close to signing with Romanian club CFR Cluj, but the club decided to retract the deal despite his status as a free agent.
