Government Appoints Mohamed Reda Benjloun as Director of the Moroccan Cinematic Center
On Thursday, June 26, the government council announced the appointment of Mohamed Reda Benjloun as the new Director of the Moroccan Cinematic Center.
Academic and Professional Background
Mohamed Reda Benjloun is a graduate of the University of Sorbonne in Paris, where he received exceptional training in media studies. He began his career in 1995 at Moroccan television channel “2M,” one of the country’s leading broadcasters. During his tenure, he held various positions, including reporter, news anchor, and producer of news bulletins. His strong skills in communication and production enabled him to rise to the position of news and documentary programs director.
One of his notable achievements in this field was the production of the weekly documentary program “Stories and Men” in 2011. The program focused on human and social stories, highlighting the experiences and challenges faced by individuals in Moroccan society, which solidified Benjloun’s reputation as a distinguished media professional.
Appointment as Director of the Moroccan Cinematic Center
As part of recent government decisions, Mohamed Reda Benjloun has been appointed Director of the Moroccan Cinematic Center, a central institution aimed at supporting and developing the film industry in Morocco. This role carries significant responsibility, as the Cinematic Center is responsible for organizing the film sector, supporting film production, and promoting Morocco’s cultural image globally through the organization of film festivals.

Other Appointments
In addition to Benjloun, the government spokesperson announced the appointments of Abd El Ghani Tayi as Regional Inspector for Urban Planning and Architecture in the Marrakech-Safi region, and Haytham Souissi as Director of Information Systems and Monitoring.
At the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Mohamed Wahmid was appointed as Secretary-General. In the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, Élhame Boumaza has been named General Inspector. Additionally, Salah Eddin Dahbi was appointed as Director of Water Research and Planning at the General Directorate of Water Engineering.
