The Moroccan National Team Arrives at Rabat Airport

The Moroccan national football team arrived today, Sunday, at Rabat-Salé Airport, coming from Boston, after participating in the 2026 World Cup, which was held jointly in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The Moroccan team exited the World Cup competition in the quarter-finals after losing to their French counterparts by two goals to nil, leaving the tournament with their heads held high after marking an outstanding journey that confirms the continuous development of Moroccan football.

The national team finished the group stage in second place with seven points, behind leading Brazil on goal difference, following a draw with the “Seleção” (1-1), a victory over Scotland (1-0), and a win against Haiti (4-2), to reach the round of 32. They progressed to the round of 16 after defeating the Netherlands on penalties (3-2) after the original and extra time ended in a draw (1-1), before continuing their global adventure with a victory over Canada (3-0), securing their place in the quarter-finals.

The Moroccan team is the only team at both the African and Arab levels to reach the quarter-finals in this historic edition of the World Cup, which witnessed, for the first time, the participation of 48 teams, concluding the tournament among the top eight teams in the world.
