Today, Sunday, the artist Egyptian Hani Shakir, known as the Prince of Arab Singing, passed away after a battle with illness.
The Middle East News Agency reported that the artist Nadia Mostafa, a member of the Musicians’ Syndicate, stated that the great artist Hani Shakir died in the French capital, Paris, after a recent health crisis.
Nadia Mostafa said that “no specific procedures have been determined yet regarding the burial of the late artist or the date of his body’s return to Egypt.”
Hani Shakir, born on December 21, 1952, in Cairo, was one of the most prominent singing voices in the Arab world and was titled “the Prince of Arab Singing.”
He began his artistic career early and presented hundreds of songs and albums, along with cinematic and television appearances. He also served as the head of the Musicians’ Syndicate for two terms, leaving a significant mark on the Arab artistic scene.
