Approval of Strict Regulations in Kaf to Prevent the Repetition of the Senegalese Shame in the African Cup Final in Morocco

The President of the African Football Confederation, Patrice Motsepe, announced the commencement of amending the Confederation’s regulations in order to establish strict rules to prevent the recurrence of the “shame” of the Senegalese in the African Cup final in Morocco.

Motsepe described what happened in the final as embarrassing and disgraceful, affirming that it should not happen again and that they are working to prevent it by amending the Confederation’s regulations to be stricter.

The president confirmed that preventing what happened requires strictness, the imposition of penalties that are commensurate with the severity of the events, along with severe financial penalties.

Motsepe also emphasized the importance of punishing individuals involved in acts of violence.

The Senegalese national team caused a scandal for African football when the coach and players left the stadium in protest against the referee awarding a penalty to Morocco, coinciding with the crowd storming the field, assaulting security, and vandalizing facilities.
