Resumption of Studies in Sidi Kacem

The director in charge of managing the Education Directorate in Sidi Kacem, Aziz Belhassane, confirmed that classes will resume in all institutions in the region starting next Monday.

In this regard, he pointed out that more than 90 students were transferred from the shelter center “Space Lasamir” to both the “Colonel Al-Amam” primary school and the “Ibn Rushd” preparatory secondary school to continue their studies.

Belhassane added that these measures included adopting remote education through the digital platform “TelmidTice,” and providing educational, psychological, and social support to affected students, with a commitment to make up for the missed classes as soon as they return to their original classrooms.

After noting that the situation of educational institutions in the region has improved significantly following the recent wave of weather fluctuations, he confirmed the directorate’s involvement in rehabilitating the educational institutions that were damaged by the floods, praising the efforts of all stakeholders, especially the regional and local authorities, for managing this critical phase.

For his part, the director of the Abdul Wahid Al-Marakshi primary school group in Sidi Kacem, Abdel Khalek Boukria, stated that classes resumed normally last Wednesday after being suspended for two days as a precautionary measure due to the rising water levels of “Wadi Ardam,” pointing out that the institution will work on programming intensive additional support sessions to compensate for the missed school time and strengthen the achievements of the affected students.

Boukria confirmed that both the educational and administrative teams are mobilized to provide psychological support to the students whose families were affected by the floods, in addition to the institution’s commitment to providing school supplies for students who lost their belongings to ensure equal opportunities.

For her part, the teacher at the same educational institution, Salwa Lissafar, explained that the resumption of classes was characterized by flexibility, noting that despite the challenge posed by the floods, the spirit of solidarity within the institution enabled the achievement of an organized and structured resumption to ensure pedagogical continuity.

It is worth mentioning that the suspension of classes that took place in all educational institutions last week was a proactive step based on the recommendations of the vigilance cell and in full coordination with the regional and local authorities and the regional academy for education and training in the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, before classes were gradually resumed.
