The defense team of Moroccan artist Saad Lamjarred issued an official statement announcing that they received a decision to postpone the hearing in the case known in the media as the “Saint-Tropez/Draguignan file” due to the health condition of the head of the chambers responsible for the file, which means a delay in the final decision for several additional months.
The team expressed its regret for this repeated postponement, noting that the French Public Prosecution had requested since June 2021 the issuance of a decision not to prosecute due to insufficient evidence.
In a notable development, the statement revealed the postponement of the preliminary hearing in the second and final file (the Paris file) scheduled before the Créteil court in 2026, after the French judiciary issued a formal summons for the complainant in this file to appear on charges of:
- Attempting to blackmail Saad Lamjarred,
- Participating in forming a criminal gang to carry out fraud related to justice.
Saad Lamjarred confirmed, through his defense team, his full adherence to his innocence over the past nine years, expressing his hope that justice will be achieved soon so that he can finally close this chapter. It is worth noting that these two cases are the only remaining ones before the French judiciary against the Moroccan artist.
