On Saturday, the Minister Delegate for Investment, Integration, and Evaluation of Public Policies, Karim Zidan, chaired the inauguration ceremony of Mohamed Khalafawi, who was appointed by King Mohammed VI as the governor of the Fahs-Anjra region.
The minister congratulated the king for the royal directives included in the 2025 Throne Speech, which called for the launch of a new generation of integrated territorial development programs to establish a comprehensive developmental model. This aligns with the noble objectives reiterated by His Majesty in the royal speech marking the opening of the first session of the fifth legislative year of the eleventh parliamentary term, emphasizing that the goals of these programs surpass governmental and parliamentary timelines to focus on deeper, broader issues.
He noted that these objectives particularly hinge on achieving greater social and spatial justice and ensuring that all citizens benefit from the fruits of growth and equal opportunities across various political, economic, and social rights.
Among the aims of these programs, the official stated, is to instigate a tangible change in mindsets and working methods, to instill a results-oriented culture based on precise field data using digital technologies, and to ensure a faster pace and stronger impact from this new generation of programs through a win-win approach between urban and rural areas.
To achieve these goals, Zidan remarked that it is essential to ensure a socioeconomic and territorial development grounded in pillars such as inclusive and equitable economic growth, promoting private initiatives, attracting both national and foreign investments, and supporting project holders.
The minister concluded that the strategic directives of the state and the new achievements made both internationally and nationally, thanks to the wise policies of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, should serve as a motivation for all local actors to actively engage in the major milestones the kingdom is experiencing.
