The Confederation of African Football (CAF), in collaboration with the global sports brand PUMA, has unveiled the official ball for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, named “ITRI.”
The new ball draws its design inspiration from traditional Moroccan zellige art, known for its intricate geometric patterns, symbolizing unity and passion for African football.
The name “ITRI” refers to the star featured on the Moroccan flag, reflecting the country’s identity and the craftsmanship of zellige design.
The ball features geometric patterns of stars, floral motifs, and circular symmetry, representing ambition, celebration, and unity among the 24 participating nations in the tournament.
Its red and green colors are inspired by Morocco’s national flag, while the “flowing motion” design embodies the spirit of creativity and rhythm in African football.
Technically, the ball is manufactured using PUMA’s Orbita 6 technology, combining heritage and innovation for high-performance play, ensuring accuracy and reliability at a professional level.
The ball will make its debut at the tournament’s opening match on December 21, 2025. PUMA has confirmed that its price will be around €130 in select African and international markets.
