FIFA’s Top Contenders for the 2025 ‘The Best’ Award, Featuring Hakimi

The International Football Federation (FIFA) announced on Thursday, November 6, the official start of voting for the final lists of the “The Best FIFA Football Awards 2025,” which annually honors the standout figures in global football.

The 2025 edition aims to recognize players and coaches who made significant impacts during a dynamic season. This season featured the inaugural expanded FIFA Club World Cup, involving 32 teams in the United States, which attracted 2.5 million spectators and billions of viewers worldwide.

Among the nominees for the 2025 “The Best” award is Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi, of Paris Saint-Germain, who has received global acclaim for his performances with both his club and the national team.

Hakimi has shone through his discipline, influence on play, and decisive contributions in key moments, making him one of the top names in his position on the international stage.

The list also includes other prominent global football stars, such as:

– Ousmane Dembélé (France/Paris Saint-Germain)
– Harry Kane (England/Bayern Munich)
– Kylian Mbappé (France/Real Madrid)
– Nuno Mendes (Portugal/Paris Saint-Germain)
– Cole Palmer (England/Chelsea)

In addition to “The Best” award, other awards will recognize key figures in football, including the Best Female Player, Best Coach, and Best Goalkeeper awards. There will also be awards for the ideal men’s and women’s teams, the FIFA Fan award for the most passionate supporters, and the Puskás and Marta awards for the best goals of the year, with nominees to be announced later.

Voting will take place from November 6 to 28, 2025, until 23:59 (CET), through the designated app on the website: FIFA.com/The-Best-FIFA-Football-Awards-2025.

The voting process includes national team coaches, team captains, specialized journalists, and registered fans on the FIFA website, with each group’s votes counting for 25 percent of the total.
